Hiiiii!
I've been thinking about starting up a nice fresh blog for the past few weeks and so when one of my closest friends, Jo, told me she was coming to Sydney for the week, I thought - why not?
I met Jo in the first few weeks of year 8 in Perth and went through everything from braces to boys with her over the next 5 years. Fast forward to now, we were talking and realised we've known each other for 9 years (almost a decade!!!) and have managed to keep in contact even though we live on opposite sides of the country. So when she told me when she was coming for the week, I was stoked to have her stay with me and instantly started thinking of things we could do and places for her to see.
Seeing as I work full time, I could only take her around on Saturday/Sunday so on Saturday morning, our first stop was the Bondi Farmers Markets.

There was such a good vibe there. The sun was shining, live music was playing and there was plenty of food stalls to check out. After walking around, we settled on what we were getting for breakfast and sat down on the grass listening to the music.

I wouldn't normally be that keen for a cheese toastie, but this one was voted numero uno on Urbanlist and had one of those melted cheese machines, so I decided to try it and daaaaaaamn it was goooood. He also put chopped onions and a few bits and pieces in there to spice things up a bit. Jo got the sesame garlic tofu rice paper burrito and we actually ended up hanging around talking to the guys at Papermill about Pokemon (yes I play, don't judge me (gotta catch 'em all)) while waiting for the tofu to cook.
Of course, naturally, after eating we were thirsty and so decided to sit down at the chai tent and have some tea (and maaaybe some donuts too).

The tea was soooooo good and they had rugs and cushions out and little crates for tables so we sat back and took our time catching up with each other.
Next on the agenda was the Bondi to Bronte coastal walk. We were so lucky Sydney brought out the goods that weekend as it had been raining on and off all week.

We then made our way to the Paddington markets and explored the stalls there while drinking freshly squeezed juice, and walked back into the city through the boutiques in Paddington and Surry Hills. I literally spent the day in trackies and sneakers, walking and talking and eating and shopping, and it was great.
I didn't take any photos through the rest of the day, and didn't really take a lot of photos throughout Sunday either cause I didn't want to keep shoving my camera in at every opportunity. But of course, managed to snap our Sunday brunch at Devon cafe in Surry Hills (one of my absolute favourites!).

Daaaaamn girlllll I'm so obsessed with truffle and absolutely love it. I love the taste, I love the smell, I looooove me some truffle. I realise I'm getting really excited right now but Devon had a temporary truffle menu that's ending really soon so I was happy I got to go before the truffle season ended. And in case you're wondering, it was SO. GOOD.
The rest of Sunday was spent going around the city, doing some shopping, and of course, your standard tourist-Sunday-session-at-Opera-bar. We even made it across the bridge to Luna Park and around Kirribilli.
The rest of the nights we spent eating out, watching a movie and even cooking at home.
We also got to try the new cheesecake shop that recently opened - Uncle Tetsu's. There has been a line outside this place since it's opened, it's been pretty crazy. It's a cheesecake shop from Japan that the owner, Uncle Tetsu, opened I think 25 years or so ago. I've never been to Japan and knew nothing about this place, but jumped in line with some of my friends and got my hands on the lightest, fluffiest cheesecake I have ever tried in my entire life.

It's not too sweet and I guess because I didn't really know what I was expecting, I was definitely impressed. I only tried their original cheesecake flavour as this was all they were serving during their soft opening. I think they're now serving more flavours so I'm definitely keen to try a few of the other ones.
Anyway, that basically sums up my weekend with one of my favourite Perthians.
Thank you for reading :))
