Weekend Notes #1

21:11

Hello!

It's officially Monday which means another weekend has passed. Ever since I started working full time I definitely appreciate my weekends a whole lot more. The one thing I miss from uni is all the days off during the week though I definitely don't miss spending those days off doing uni work... so I guess it's a win-win seeing as I don't have to take work home with me on the weekend.

I've been really sick these past two weeks with a chest infection so I really wanted to get out this weekend and enjoy my days off before diving into another week at work.

Saturday morning I started nice and early and headed to the Lulu Lemon Warehouse sale. I am such a sucker for a good sale (I mean, who isn't tho...?). It was huuuuuge and there were racks on racks (and I mean it was literally rack city with all the girls trying clothes on everywhere) of exercise clothes. It was a really decent price cut too so I'm super happy, most of the stuff was at least 50% off, some even more.

In the afternoon I met up with a friend and went for a walk from Barangaroo to Circular Quay. It was such a nice day, a little warm for Sydney's winter but perfect for an afternoon stroll around the city.

Sydney is so picturesque. I've lived here for four and a half years and am still absolutely in love with this city. I drive on the Harbour Bridge every morning to get to work which puts me in such a good mood to start the day with.

We also stopped by at my favourite cafe in The Rocks - La Renaissance - for hot chocolate and cake. By this stage I was quite hungry from all the walking so I didn't actually manage to snap a good photo of the cake. It's actually funny because we were heading out to dinner later that night and I saw this sign at La Renaissance which perfectly described the situation.

The food adventure continued on Saturday night where we then headed to the Messina x Wonderbao event.

I was honestly actually quite disappointed. I didn't like the baos at all. I was really keen for the fried ice-cream Messina was serving only to find out they were sold out (at 7.30pm on Saturday night!?) so we headed back to a friends place nearby to relax and get cosy by the fire pit he bought just the weekend before. The perfect end to any day :)

Sunday morning I met a friend I used to work with at Kikki.K, whom I hadn't seen since, for breakfast at Cuckoo Callay in Newtown. It was definitely a long overdue catch up. It's funny how things change in even just two years! From selling endless pens and cards together to now working as an Engineer and Lawyer! We had so much to catch up on (and over really good food may I add), it's crazy to think how much time has gone past since.

It was my second time at Cuckoo Callay. I got the Bacon Mac Daddy which is a croissant with mac and cheese, bacon and poached eggs. It was sooo good! I also noticed on the menu they had a special dog menu! I was literally having breakfast with dogs around me sipping puppychinos. If I ever do get a puppy, you'll know where to find me every morning ;)

Having spent most of my weekend eating, I put on my kicks and met up with some friends to play a little bit of volleyball in the afternoon.

I really want to put more effort into exercising regularly. It's not that I don't like it, I just need to overcome my laziness (and actually use my exercise clothes for the right purpose, not just out of comfort on the weekend hehe). But of course, after burning fat you must gain the energy back so we headed out for a Vietnamese feast after all that hard work.

I hope you have a good week ahead! Thank you for reading :)

Goodnight

x E
